Last week we broke down what to do during week one of washing to help lessen the amount of oil your scalp produces, hopefully allowing you to wash your hair less. If you didn’t catch it, you can read the post here: READ HERE. I am hoping week 1 wasn’t too hard of a challenge and you are feeling ready for week 2!
Last week we learned about the cycle of washing everyday and how it can actually create extra oil. We swapped washing with rinsing on every other day. The hope is that by day 7 you saw a little bit less oil then before you started. If you didn’t, don’t get discouraged! I am going to give you the steps for week 2, but if you feel like you need to go back to week 1 and repeat that is alright. Week 2 is probably the most challenging of your weeks. Be on standby with your favorite dry shampoo and hair accessories. If you are not a fan of dry shampoo, try using just a setting powder around the hairline.
I am going to include the extra tips I added in last weeks to refresh your memory. On the rinse only days, try using dry shampoo or just a pretty ponytail or jaw clip. Be sure to brush multiple times a day with your Boar Bristle brush to distribute the oils through your ends. A clarifying shampoo can be used on your two washes to help you feel clean and fresh. Any questions? Don’t hesitate to comment or reach out. Before starting, be sure to wash all brushes, combs, and clips so they are clean and free of debris. I linked a brush cleaner, boar bristle brush, and accessories in the last blog post. You can find them, along with some of my other favorite items at the salon’s Amazon Storefront here: SHOP HERE.
I commend you for making it through week 1 and I can’t wait to see your progress at the end of week 2! If we can even get you to washing every other day that is a win and step in the right direction.
There will be new steps for week 3! Be sure to subscribe to our email list so you don’t miss the next post. Just fill out the contact form on the bottom of this page to be added: EMAIL LIST
